What is MS-Word?
MS-Word is short for Microsoft Word, which is proprietary word processor for creating and editing text documents. The current versions are Microsoft Office Word 2010 for Windows and Microsoft Office Word 2011 for Mac.
MS-Word has two file formats: .doc and .docx. DOC or doc (an abbreviation of 'document') is a filename extension for word processing documents, most commonly in the Microsoft Word Binary File Format and has been used in many different versions of Word, including Word for DOS; Word for Windows 1 and 2; Word 4 and 5 for Mac; Word 6 and Word 95 for Windows; Word 6 for Mac; Word 97, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007 and 2010 for Windows; Word 98, 2001, X, and 2004 for Mac. DOCX is the newer word file format signifing the Office Open XML international standard for Office documents, adopted by Word 2007 and 2010 for Windows, Word 2008 and 2011 for the Macintosh.
Note: MS-Word processing and conversion is excluded in the standard RasterEdge .NET Imaging SDK, you may add it on with MS-Word Convertor or .NET MS-Word Convertor SDK.
