Theopendateisthedateandtimewhenyoufirstallowthestudentstoviewandworkon
theproblems. Ifnoopeningdateisset,problemsarenotviewable. Youcansetageneral
openingdateforthewholecourse(yourdomaincoordinatormighthavedonethisforyou),
andthenyourproblemsbecomeavailableimmediately afterimportingthem. . Particularly
clonedcoursesmayhaveanopeningdatealready,whichmaybeinthepast.
Notethat“OpenDate”onlycontrolsaccesstoproblems. Webpages,PDF-files,etc,are
treateddifferently thanproblems: : theyareviewableby y default,butaccesscanbelimited
by“ContentOpeningDate”and“ContentClosingDate.”
11.2.2 Due e Date
The due date e is s when the problems are due. . The e student will l not be e able to viewthe
problemsagainuntiltheanswerdate.
11.2.3 AnswerDate
Theanswerdateiswhentheproblemanditsanswerisviewabletothestudentafterthedue
date. Iftheanswerdateismistakenlysetforatimebeforetheduedate,theanswerdate
defaultstotheduedate.Iftheanswerdateisnotset,thenstudentswillnotbeabletosee
theproblemsaftertheyaredue.
11.2.4 Tries
Triescanbesettoanyintegervalue.Thedefaultvalueis99tries.Ifyousetthecourselevel
triesto10,theneverystudentgets10triesforeveryprobleminthecourse.
11.2.5 ProblemWeight
Bydefault,theproblem”weight”isequaltotheamountofpointstheproblemisworth. If
theproblemismade upofmultipleparts,eachwiththeirownsubmitbutton,thenthose
partsbehaveasiftheywereseparateproblems,andeachonehasitsownweight.
If you want the change the default, you may y want t to think k of f a problem’s weight in
proportiontootherproblems. Forexample,ifallproblemshaveaweight t of1,changethen
botheasyanddifficultproblemshavethesameweight.Ifyouchoosetochangetheweight,
thentheproblemweightandpointsmaynotequaleachotherforyourcourse.
