ChangingyourMapObjectAttributes

anObjectAttributedialogbox.Thisdialogboxgivesyoutheobject'ssize,itsposition,andother
informationspecifictotheobject.

onyourmap,youcanconvertittoaregionontheObjectsmenu,clickConverttoRegion.
Ifyouwanttocreateabufferzonewithinonemileofaboundary,meaningyouwantazonethat
extendsonemilefromtheboundarytotheoutsideandtotheinside,youmustfirstconverttheregion
toapolylineandthencreatethebuffer.Ifyoufirstcreatethebufferontheregion,youwillinclude
toomuchterritoryinthebuffer(theentireregioninthebufferplustheonemilebufferthatextends
outsideoftheregion).
Convertingobjectstopolylinesandregionsallowsyoutoperformnode-editingoperationsonobjects
thatordinarilydonotallownodeediting.Forexample,youcannotaddnodestoarectangleobject.
If,however,youfirstconverttherectangleintoapolylineorregion,youcanthenaddnodestothe
object.
