These fees were approved by the HCC Board of Trustees, effective Fall 2013. 
Fees are established in accordance with Florida Statute 1009.23. All fees are reviewed and may be 
adjusted annually. In 2013-14, there is no increase in tuition and fees over the previous year’s rates. 
However, the Governor approved a bill requiring school districts to pay the standard tuition rate to 
colleges for students attending dual enrollment classes on their campuses. New student user fees for 
Fiscal Year 2013-14 include pay for print fees and a $20 processing fee for nonreturn of a rented 
textbook.

HCC had the seventh-lowest average cost per credit hour in 2011-2012. Average costs vary based on 
the variety of program offerings at each college and include upper-level costs at institutions that offer 
4-year degrees. 
The cost per credit hour of lower-level Advanced & Professional (A&P) ranged from $132 per credit 
hour  at  Broward  College  and  Pasco-Hernando  Community  College  to  $303  at  Florida  Keys 
Community College. HCC’s A&P cost per credit hour was $156 in 2011-12.
