home button, if necessary.

Cleaning Your Product
To keep your product workingat its best, you should cleanitseveral times a year.
Closetheoutput tray and front cover when you are not using the product to protectitfrom dust.
Caution: Do not use a hard brush, alcohol,or paintthinner toclean the product or youmay damageit.
Do not use oil or other lubricants inside the product or letwater get inside it.
1. Turnoffthe product.
2. Unplug the power cable.
3. Disconnect any connectedcables.
4. Remove all the paper.
5. Clean the scanner glass with a soft, lint-freecloth (microfiber is recommended),moistenedwith a
littleglass cleaner.
Caution: Do notspray glasscleaner directly on the glass and do not press theglass surface with
any force.
6. Clean the outer case and control panel with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or chemical cleansers.

Caution: Do notplace tape on the white flat cableinsidetheproduct; otherwise,you may damage
your product.
4. Lower the scanner unit.
5. Remove all the paper from the product.
6. Remove any memory cards inserted in the product.
7. Unplug the power cable.

9. Close the output tray and front cover, then lower thecontrol panel.
10. Place the productinits originalpacking materials, if possible, or use equivalentmaterialswith
cushioning around the product.
Keep the product levelduring transportation. Be sure to remove the tape from the ink cartridge holder
before turning on your product. Ifprintquality has declined whenyou print again,clean and align the
print head.
