to. This can be done by double clicking on the ‘Copy to Automation
Engine’ activity in the job editor of NexusManager.
In the “Servers” window all servers (Nexus systems) are displayed
by name and IP address as defined for the local NexusManager
client. This list will actually determine which Nexus servers will ap-
pear in the pop-up list to make it easier to make a connection to a
Nexus server. When a server is defined, NexusManager will also
store additional info in the preferences, like the recently submitted
files, recent places and favorites used in the Remote Browser.
A server which is broadcasts its availability using Bonjour, will have
a bullet icon on the left. For more information on Bonjour, see 1.8.1
Nexus settings on page 32.

be updated every second. Of course, these timings depend on
the amount of traffic to and from the server.

2.3. Connecting to a Nexus Server
2.3.1 Automatic Connection
If one or more servers defined in the Preferences have the “Auto-
matic Connect” option enabled, NexusManager will automatically
try to connect to these servers.
If no Default Server is set to automatically connect, or if this connec-
tion failed, NexusManager will not be connected to a server, and
most options will be grayed out. In that case, you need to establish
a connection yourself.
2.3.2 New Connection
A new connection is made using the New Connection function in
the File menu, or using its shortcut, q - N. The Connect dialog will

• Save (General)
The Save function under the File Menu will trigger Nexus to save
the complete database on the server. This means that all modifi-
cations which have been made on the local NexusManager Client
(e.g. new licenses, new workflows, modified workflows, etc....)
will be saved to disk on the Nexus System.
Normally, all changes made through NexusManager are saved
immediately on the NexusManager, so the Save function will only
be used to force the Server to a save when something is going
• Save Workflow
If the Save function is applied with a Workflow selected in the
Workflow list, or with a Workflow Editor window open, the partic-
ular workflow will be saved. Saving and restoring a workflow is
described in 2.11.7 Save on page 66

2.5. Edit Menu
2.5.1 Workflow Edit
The topmost Edit functions can be used when editing a WorkFlow.
See later: Editing workflows
Undo cancels the last change made to the Workflow. This can be
adding or moving an activity, changing the parameters for an ac-
tivity or removing some activities. While the Workflow is being ed-
ited, the number of undos is unlimited. When closing the editing
window of a Workflow, the undo buffer is emptied.
Redo cancels the last Undo function performed on the Workflow.
It is possible to Redo as many times as the Undo function was
applied. Any change (adding, moving or removing or changing
parameters) will empty the Redo buffer. This means that Redo is
only possible immediately after using Undo.
Cut removes the selected activity or activities from the edited
Workflow, and places them on the clipboard. This means the ac-
tivities can be used to be pasted (see below) on another position,
or in another Workflow, since the activities and their parameters
on the clipboard are kept when closing the Workflow Editing win-
Copy puts a copy of the selected activities on the clipboard. The
original activities remain unchanged. The activities on the clip-
board can be used to be pasted on another position, or in anoth-
er Workflow, since the information on the clipboard is kept when
closing the Workflow Editing window. The Copy function, unlike
the other editing functions, can be used on locked Workflows (i.e.
if the Padlock is set to locked).
Paste inserts the activities on the clipboard (including their pa-
rameters) in the edited Workflow. The activities will be placed to
the right bottom of the last selected activity.
The Delete function can be used to delete the selection: a workflow
in the workflow list, a job in the job list, a Server in the Server list, ...
Shortcut: q - Backspace: Delete
The Find function will activate the Search field in the active dialog,
when available (Job list, Workflow list, ...)
Shortcut: q - z - F: Find
