With its extensive back-office connectivity capability, eCopy ShareScan v5 can meet the needs

A Document Extender, previously known as a “Document Service”, occurs on the ShareScan 
Server during the Process step.  A Document Extender does something to the scanned 
document, such as clean up the image, add a Bates stamp, or extract data from the document. 
In addition, ShareScan includes a number of Connectors that are included and configurable 
within the Services Manager.   A Connector is an application that delivers or stores a document 
and can integrate that document with various business applications. Connector settings within 
the Services Manager include the scan button logos, labels, file-naming, document destination, 
or third- party application interaction directly from the Administration Tool.

Convert hard documents into editable formats from the MFD.  By automatically 
converting their documents into Microsoft Word and Excel users will no longer need 
to manually recreate, retype or reformat paper documents.  Customers can accurately 
replicate their paper documents for easier editing.

Automate daily forms processing.  Customers can input forms directly into 
databases from an imageRUNNER office system.  They can drive business process 
to completion right from their MFD!  Increased workforce productivity is facilitated 
by automating the processing of paper forms and enabling processes to be kicked off 
directly from the MFD.  All of this can become embedded into office workers’ daily 
workflow, encouraging a “Scan to Process” behavior.
