How to Enter
There are four easy steps to applying for
the 2010 Western Australian Industry and
Export Awards:
Please remember that the quality of the
application submitted is an important
factor in demonstrating the applicant’s
achievements and thereby enhancing
its prospects of selection. The main
basis of judging will be the responses to
the questions outlined in the application
forms.
Applications containing inadequate
fi nancial details cannot be accepted
Determine if you are eligible
Eligibility depends on your degree of
Financial and managerial autonomy as a
Western Australian based business.
This is spelt out in the following application
sections of this booklet.
Sponsors and government
departments are ineligible to enter the
awards.
Complete the relevant application form(s)
Electronic versions of the application
forms are available from the Awards
website at www.commerce.wa.gov.au/
industryexportawards and are included
in the booklet as a reference.
Export Award categories only
Application must be made online at
www.exportawards.gov.au
Assistance with completing your
submissions is available from a

Complete your submission by
addressing all judging criteria
Industry Award Categories
Submissions must address the
performance of your business against
each of the judging criteria, in the order
listed.
A maximum of one page of text per
judging criterion is desirable, with
responses being as succinct as possible.
If you believe a specifi c criterion is
not applicable to you, please state the
reason(s) in full.
Export Award Categories
Please complete questions 1 to 8 and on
the application. Your response to question
3 should be a maximum of 1600 words
addressing all headings.
However, some of the specifi ed areas may
not apply to all organisations (e.g. not all
applicants may be involved in technology
innovation).
Applicants may provide information in this
section in dot point format.
Note: Applications must address all
judging criteria and provide suffi cient
fi nancial details to answer relevant
questions
Send in your application
Applications are accepted in the following
methods:
Via email (this is the preferred method)
An electronic application form for the
industry categories is available on the
awards website at: www.commerce.
wa.gov.au/industryexportawards in
PDF format
Return completed application form,
submission and any attachments (e.g.
electronic logo and photographs) to:
industryexportawards@commerce.
wa.gov.au
CD ROM
Copy your completed application on to a
CD and send to the Events Coordinator
(details blow)
Hard Copy (applies to Industry
category applications)
Send six bound A4 original copies, of
your completed application form, plus
one unbound photocopy (do not bind or
staple), your typed submission, a company
logo (in both jpg and eps formats), four
quality photographs and any attachments
(for example, fi nancial statements).

Industry Awards
Eligibility
You are eligible to apply if you are a
Western Australian based business
or organisation and can demonstrate
a substantial degree of fi nancial and
managerial autonomy; reasonable
freedom from external policy direction
in relation to products or operations
under review; and undertake product or
service development and manufacturing
in Western Australia.All applications must
meet the judging criteria for each award,
as listed below.
The independent panel of judges will
base their decisions on these criteria.
Being a client, subsidiary or otherwise
associated with the awards sponsors does
not exclude you from applying for any of
the award categories. Sponsors and
government departments are ineligible
to enter the awards
