SMTP Host list
• SMTP Host Address — Specifies the host that delivers inbound SMTP traffic. Enter either
an IP address or a fully qualified hostname that is registered in DNS. For example,
mycompany.com. Required field.
• Port — Specifies the SMTP port. Typically, the value is 25. Required field.
• Preference — Specifies the MX preference for this server. When delivering mail, the

Configuring outbound filtering
Email Protection uses the "smart host" or "relay" address to ensure that your outbound email is
filtered. This is accomplished by routing all of your outbound email through Email Protection before it
continues on to its final destination.
Configure outbound servers
Set up one or more outbound servers in Email Protection to enable outbound filtering. For each
outbound server, add and configure the IP address range your email server will need to send email
through Email Protection.
Before you begin
Outbound server configuration is region aware. Before adding outbound servers, select
your region by going to Setup | MX Records.
