Linking Templates to Canvases for Output to Printers
When you create a template and Saveit, you will be asked if you would
like to link the template to an output canvas. If you click yes, you will find
yourself back here in the Preferences where you will need to link it. If you
want to keep the name you used when you saved
the template (easiest, less confusing) then you pull
down the Item list and select the 1st available blank
canvas item. Next, you must link this blank item to
your new or another desired template by clicking
the Linkbutton. This takes youto the Templates folder where you need
to highlight the Template you just created (or want to use)and click Open.
The Item Name, the Edit Nameand the Template Namewill all become
the name of the template you just selected. Note:the Itemname won’t
reflect
the name change until you click the pull down arrows, let go and
pull
down the menu again. You don’t need to do that, but if you want to
actually see it in the Item list, then you do. Also, the Use box will be
automatically checked to the right of the Item list.
Note:If the Usebox is not checked, the template will be there, but
it won’t be availablein the Operation Window for use. It should
automatically get checked while linking templates the first time, but if
you go back and forth swapping out templates, it may not stay checked.
In this case you will need to verify that it is checked, meaning that you
want to use that item(template) you have selected.
If you’re in the Operation Window with the proper printer selected,
and can’t see the template you just linked in the pull down canvas menu,
then the possible culprit was that the Usebox was not checked. From the
Operation Window, pull down the Preferences menu (top of screen) and
