Using Filtersin theCustomPropertyEditorEdit

FilteringisavailableintheEditCustomPropertieswindowsforalldevices,and
youcanapplyfilterstomanipulateavailabledataviews.CustomPropertyEditor
allowsyoutoeditthetextwithincustompropertyfieldstowhichafilterisapplied.
ThefollowingproceduresshowhowtousefilterswithinCustomPropertyEditor.
CreatingCustomPropertiesFilters
Thefollowingprocedurecreatesacustompropertiesfilter.
Note:OrionNetworkPerformanceMonitorusersmayalsocreatefiltersfor
interfacecustomproperties.
Tocreateafilter:
1. ClickStart >AllPrograms >SolarWindsOrion >GroupingandAccess
Control >CustomPropertyEditor.
2. ClickProperties >EditObjectProperties,whereObjectisNodeor
Volume,asappropriate.
3. ClickFilterActiveorNoActiveFilter,andthenclickApplyFilter.
Note:ThetextoftheFilterActive/NoActiveFilterbuttonchanges
dynamically,indicatingthefilterstatusforthecurrentlyvieweddata.
4. Clickthehyperlinkedtexttoselecttheappropriatecriteria.
5. Clicktheellipsis,andthenselectfromthefollowingoptions:

SelectAddanewelementaryconditiontogenerateaconditionthat
isbasedonadirectcomparisonofnetworkobjectdatafields.
l
SelectAddanewadvancedelementaryconditiontogeneratea
conditionbasedonacomparisonofdevicedatafieldsandvalues.
l
SelectAddanewcomplexconditiontodefineaconditionthatfilters
otherdefinedconditions.
l
SelectDeletecurrentconditiontoremoveaselectedcondition.
