Creating Documents
Indexing New Documents
By default, indexing a document in AppXtender involves pure data
entry. If you want to increase indexing speed and accuracy, you can
use OCR proofing or one of the automated indexing features. For
more information, refer to the following topics:
◆
“OCR Proofing” on page 187
◆
“Automated Indexing Features” on page 189
If, while you are indexing a document, a message appears indicating
that another document already exists with the same unique key
value, refer to “Unique Index Validation” on page197. If a Dual Data
Entry dialog box appears, refer to “Dual Data Entry” on page198.
If you have imported a batch of documents in ApplicationXtender
Image Capture, you can index this batch in AppXtender. For more
information, refer to “Indexing Batches” on page200.
If your AppXtender system is configured to use Document Level
Security and the %U keyword, keep in mind the following points:
◆
If the AppXtender system is using the Windows security
provider, you must precede the user name in the document index
record with a domain and a slash. For example, typing
CM\axadmin indicates the "axadmin" user on the "CM" domain.
◆
If the AppXtender system is using a directory service security
provider, you must enter the name in the document index record
exactly as it appears in ApplicationXtender Application
Generator (AppXtender AppGen).
OCR Proofing
Depending on AppXtender configuration, you can use OCR proofing
to index new image documents.
Note: To use this feature, you must have FineReader installed and selected as
the AppXtender OCR engine, and you must have AppXtender configured to
enable OCR proofing. For information on selecting an OCR engine and on
configuring AppXtender to enable OCR proofing, consult your AppXtender
system administrator or refer to the "Configuring AppXtender Workstations"
section of the ApplicationXtender Installation Guide.
