Exporting Your Notes  
To export notes, use the following 
procedure.  
1.
Make sure you have the page open 
that you want to include in your 
export. 
2.
Select the File tab from the Ribbon. 
3.
Select Export. 
4.
Select Page, Section, or Notebook 
from the Export Current list. 
5.
Select the Format you want to use. 
6.
Select Export. 
7.
In the Save As dialog box, navigate to 
the location where you want to save 
the exported file. Enter a new name, 
if desired, and select Save. 
Creating a New Notebook 
1.
Select the File tab on the Ribbon. 
2.
In the Backstage View, select the New tab. 
3.
Select where you want to store the notebook, either on your 
SkyDrive, or on your computer. 
4.
Enter the Name of the notebook. 
5.
The notebook is created in the default location either on 
your SkyDrive or your computer. But you can select Create in 
a Different Folder to change that. In the Create New 
Notebook dialog box, navigate to the location and select 
Create.  
6.
Select Create. 
7.
OneNote displays the following message. 
8.
Select Invite people to go to the Share page and send an 
invitation. Or select Not Now. 
Password Protecting Your Notebook 
If you’ve got notes for your eyes only, you can password protect that section. 
To create a password for a section, use the following procedure. 
1.
Right click on the tab for the section you want to protect. 
2.
Select Password Protect This Section. 
3.
In the Password Protection Pane, select Set Password. 
4.
In the Password Protection dialog box, enter the password. 
5.
Re-enter the password to confirm it. 
6.
Select OK. 
If you have backups of the section, you will see the following message. Make a selection to continue. If you keep 
existing backups, know that they are not password protected.
