Upload An Image To Your Webpage
4.1 In Contribute, navigate to the page you
would like to upload an image to
4.2 Click Edit Page
Note that there are only certain sections of the page
that are editable. This is normal and intentional.
4.3 Position and click your mouse pointer at
the spot where you want the image to be
The image can be moved once it has been inserted, so
do not worry about being exact.
4.4 Choose Insert > Image from the menu at
the top and then choose an option from
the drop down list
Select “Image on My Computer…” if you want to
upload an image that is on your hard drive and one
that you haven’t already uploaded to the website.
Select “Image on Website…” to choose an image that
you have already uploaded somewhere else on your
site (do not upload the same image twice). Select
“Image on The Internet…” to choose an image
anywhere else on the Internet. (But beware; if you
select an image from someone else’s site, you are at
their mercy. If they take that image down or change
it, yours will also change.)
4.5 A window will prompt you to enter an
image description, do so and press OK
Image description (or ALT-Text) is very important
because it is the only way people with vision
impairment who use screen-readers will know what is
one your page. In addition, many people browse with
images turned off, and they only click to view an
image if the description entices them to see it.
4.6 Click Publish to save your changes and
upload them to the Internet
You may also click “Save for later” if you are not
finished making your edits and you do not want you
make your current changes public quite yet.
