Uploading Files to Ingeniux
Adding an image or other asset to a page is a two-part process. First, the
asset must be uploaded from the user’s local machine to the server that
runs Ingeniux CMS. Once it is there, it can be used repeatedly on
multiple pages.
Uploaded files are organized in three main folders on the Ingeniux CMS
server: Images, Documents, and Media Files. These folders can be
subdivided to make organizing easier. However, all file management
tasks associated with these folders falls to the server administrator.
Individual users cannot delete, move, rename, or otherwise organize
items on the server through the Ingeniux upload interface.
Uploading Images
The documents folder on the Ingeniux server contains those files
referenced by document links. Any type of file can be stored here, but
document links are the only way to point pages created in the Ingeniux
CMS to the file.
The create component option can trigger the simultaneous creation of a
component in Ingeniux. A component provides the ability to add meta
data for the asset, thus facilitating searches for the content later.
However, the site must first be configured with page creation rules to
enable this automatic creation.
