includeProductLines,City,Year,andPrice.

Youcanusethefacetstoexploreyourdatabyselectingfacetvaluesandtoviewdatavaluesdirectly.

Selectingavalue(eitherviasingleselection,ormulti-selection)changessubsequentfacetsaswellas

changingyourchosenvisualization-thetableorthechart.Forexample,youwishtoseethenumber

ofProductLinesyouhadduring2003.Byselectingthefacetvalueof"2003"withinthe"Year"facet

wouldfilterthevalueswithintheProductLinesfacet(onlytheLinesfor2003wouldbeshown).

Additionallythevisualizationwouldchangetoaccommodateyourfacetselection.

Category facet

Categoryfacetsallowyoutoselectcategoriesandtheirvaluestofilterdownthedatayouareexploring.

Thesefacetsandtheirvaluesareconstructedfromdatasourceobjects(dimensions)usedbyan

Onemethodofinteractingwiththechartforfurtheranalysisisdouble-clickingtheregionsthatrepresent

thedata(forexample,abarofabarchartorasectorofapiechart).Thisactionselectsfacetvalues

whichperformsfurtherfiltering.

Forinstance,youcandouble-clickabarofabarchartthatisrepresentingthesalesrevenueof2007.

Thisactioncausesthe2007facetvaluewithintheYearfacettobecomeselected.Thechartchanges

accordingtoyourselection(filteringhasbeenapplied),inthiscase,thechartnowshowsthesales

revenueof2007,dividedintoquarters.Asingleclickofaregionhighlightsthedata(withinthechart

andlegend)butdoesnotperformselection.

Youcanalsoselectfacetsbyselectingthechartregionswithyourcursor.Forexample,holddownthe

Shiftkeyclickanddragyourcursoroverthebarsofabarchart.Thecorrespondingfacetsandfacet
