THE EXPRESSION ENGINE INTERFACE – EDIT MODE
The following will explain the Expression Engine interface in Edit Mode.
1.
Publish and Edit buttons
–
the example below is in edit mode
Publish button is for Creating new entries
Edit button is for Editing already created entries
2.
This area shows the mode you are in, Edit or Publish (it is showing Edit in example below)
3.
This area shows what user is logged in (in the example, the user, msue_editor, is logged in)
4.
Click Logout when you want to log out of the editor
5.
These 5 dropdown menus allow you to refine your search for entries to edit
NOTE
–
at first, you will not need to refine your search, but as Resource and Program entries are created
by you (and others), this refinement of search will become useful.
Filter by Channel
–
you can choose from All, Programs or Resources. Choosing All will allow you to
view and or search for both Programs and Resources you wish to edit. In the example, All was chosen.
Filter by Status
–
you can choose from Open or Closed, for the most part you do not need to change
this.
Date Range
–
you can choose from Last 24 hours, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 180 days, Last
365 days and Custom. Again, for the most part you will not need to change this.
Results
–
here you can choose how many entries you want to show, it is default to 50, but you can click
the dropdown and choose from 10, 25, 50, 75, 100 and 150. The default is fine, but if you want more or
less results to show, you may choose it here.
