5. SelectAllowautomaticagentupdatestohavetheagentautomatically
upgradedwhenupgradingtonewversionsofSolarWindsmodulesthat
supporttheagent.
Note:Disablingthisoptionwillrequireyoutomanuallyupgradeagents
afterupgradingyourSolarWindsproductsandmodules.
6. ClickSubmittocompletetheprocess.
Whentheconnectionissuccessful,theagentwillappearintheagentlistonthe
ManageAgentspage.
Toconnecttoaagentusingserverinitiatedcommunication:
1. OntheAddAgentpage,enterthenameoftheagentyouwanttoconnectto.
2. SelectServerinitiatedcommunication.
3. EntertheIP addressorhostnameoftheremotecomputeronwhichthe
agentisinstalled.
4. ExpandAdvancedtochangethedefaultportnumber,assigntheagenttoa
differentpoller,oruseaproxytoconnecttotheagent.
5. Toviewthepoller,clickAdvanced.
6. SelectAllowautomaticagentupdatestohavetheagentautomatically
upgradedwhenupgradingtonewversionsofSolarWindsmodulesthat
supporttheagent.
Note:Disablingthisoptionwillrequireyoutomanuallyupgradeagents
afterupgradingyourSolarWindsproductsandmodules.
7. ClickSubmittocompletetheprocess.

1. Fornodespolledthroughtheagent,fromthewebconsole,navigatetothe
NodeDetailspage:
a. Home> Node.
b. FromtheManagementresource,clickEditNode.
c. SelecttheWMIoption,enteryourWMI credentials,andthenclick
Submit.
2. NavigatetotheAgentManagementpageanddeletetheAgentrecord:
a. Fromthewebconsole,navigatetoSettings> ManageAgents.
b. ChecktheboxnexttotheAgentyouwanttouninstall,andthenclick
Deleteonthetoolbar.Confirmdeletionwhenprompted.
3. InstalltheAgentinthedesiredmode.
a. Fromthewebconsole,navigatetoSettings> ManageAgents> Add
Agent>Deploytheagentonmynetwork.
b. Selectthedesirednodebycheckingitsbox,thenclickNext.
c. Assigncredentialsthenselecttheagentmode,ActiveorPassive.
