Youcaneditahierarchybychangingtheorderofthedimensionsitcontains,
byaddingdimensionstoit,andremovingdimensionsfromit.Youcanalso
renameahierarchy,andevendeleteit.
Youcanalsocreateyourownhierarchiesusingdimensionsavailableinthe
reportorbyusinguserobjects.Therearetwotypesofcustomhierarchies:
• Pre-definedcustomhierarchiesthataresetupbytheuniversedesigner
andwhichcanbere-usedinotherdocuments.
• Hierarchiesyoucreateyourselfandwhicharesavedonlyinthedocument
youcreatedthemin.
Editinghierarchies
Thechangesyoumaketoahierarchythatwascreatedbyauniversedesigner
affectyourworkindrillmodeonly.Forexample,ifyoudeleteahierarchy,
youcannolongeruseitindrillmode.However,thehierarchyremains
unchangedintheuniversesoyoucanstillusethehierarchytodefinescope
ofanalysiswhenbuildingaqueryontheuniverse.Theuniversedesigneris
theonlypersonwhocaneditordeletehierarchiesattheuniverselevel.

1. ClickHierarchiesontheAnalysismenu.
TheHierarchyEditoropens.
2. IntheAvailableHierarchiesbox,clickthe+signtoviewthecontentsof
